Meet the Founder

 Meet Joyce “Joy” Dixon, founder of Scholars Turf Youth Lounge non-profit program.  Joy has been advocating for parents, children and communities to help them understand Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students with behavior and learning disabilities for 7 years.  She has been working with youth and families in the community outreach and impact field for over 14 years.  Joy planted the first of many to come, Scholars Turf Youth Lounges, inside the very community she was born and raised until age 10 when she moved to the Eastside of Wilmington, where she plans to open another Youth Lounge.  Always having a passion to educate the youth and give back to under privileged communities, Joy has and will continue to organize food and hygiene drives with the goal to help provide families in need with additional nourishment, and teens with well needed products and services to maintain proper hygiene and self care.
